Exergon hosted a dinner on September 18, bringing together thought leaders, startups, and policymakers to discuss the role of Generation 4 nuclear fission and nuclear fusion in the transition to net-zero emissions. The event highlighted how these technologies can help decarbonize our energy supply.
Discussions focused on recent advances in nuclear fusion and the advances in Advanced Modular Reactors (AMRs), noting their key advantages such as enhanced safety, reduced waste, lower capital costs, shorter construction times and their diversity of applications, which are attracting increased interest from private investors.
Impact of nuclear power as a catalyst for:
- Industry: reducing the cost of low-carbon hydrogen.
- The electricity grid: providing reliable baseload power to complement renewable energies.
- Ecosystems: opening up new markets such as synthetic fuels for aviation and maritime transport.
The dinner was attended by Stefano Buono from newcleo, Valerie Besson from KPMG, Cedric Leoty from Lazard, Giuseppe J. Sangiovanni, as well as Charles Beigbeder and Olivier de Panafieu from AUDACIA, and Vincent BRILLAULT. The discussions were brilliantly moderated by Cécile Maisonneuve.
