On Monday, September 9, 2024, the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Paris offices hosted a major event organized by AUDACIA, focusing on the transformative impacts of quantum and aerospace technologies. The event, entitled “Deeptech: The Future is Now,” brought together startup founders, BCG experts, and public authorities to discuss how these technologies will shape the future.

The discussions were led by Olivier Tonneau, partner at Quantonation, a leading investment fund dedicated to quantum technologies, and Charles Beigbeder, President at AUDACIA and partner at Expansion, the largest European venture capital fund dedicated to new space technologies.

Panel on Quantum Physics:

  • Antoine Gourevitch, Senior Partner at BCG, outlined the expected revolutionary impacts of quantum computing across various industries, including chemicals, pharmaceuticals, financial services and cryptography, highlighting the significant investments needed in this field in the years to come.

  • Marion Pierfitte, COO at Qubit Pharmaceuticals, explored the synergies between AI and quantum technologies, including their potential to improve drug discovery through reduced energy consumption and advanced simulation capabilities.

  • Georges-Olivier Reymond, CEO of Pasqal, discussed the superiority of quantum computing over traditional computational methods, offering practical applications in sectors such as banking and energy.

Aerospace Panel:

  • Michel Friedling (Gen. R.), CEO of Look Up Space, highlighted their strategic approach to orbital sustainability, focusing on real-time mapping to prevent space debris using advanced radar technologies.

  • Stanislas Maximin, CEO of Latitude, presented their innovative and cost-effective orbital launch strategies, aiming to set new standards in the industry.

  • Gianluigi Baldesi, Head of Ventures and Funding at the European Space Agency – ESA, detailed Europe’s role in supporting the growth of new space technologies and startups, securing a competitive advantage in the global market.

Many thanks to the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) for their warm welcome and support during this event, which promises to mark a turning point in the adoption of tomorrow’s technologies.
